Puget Sound falls in home opener

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound softball team held a 3-1 lead through four innings against Pacific, but the Boxers rallied for a 5-3 win at Logger Field Saturday afternoon. Puget Sound lost the second game, 8-0 (5 inn.).

Faced with a 1-0 deficit through three innings, the Loggers pushed three runners across the plate in the fourth.

Maddie Colombo and Noelle Kerr got the rally started with consecutive walks, and Kaitlyn Webster drew a two-out walk to load the bases. Hana DeGuzman smacked a two-run double and Kelsie Sullivan followed with an RBI single to provide clutch two-out scores.

Between the two games, DeGuzman, Abbi Wong, and Jessica Shimoda gathered multiple hits. 

The Northwest Conference series against Pacific concludes Sunday, March 10, with a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m.
