FIRCREST, Wash. – The Puget Sound golf teams stayed in action this week with their home tournament, the Logger Invitational. The Loggers hosted St. Martin's and Trinity Lutheran in the two round tournament.
The tournament was scored just for the individual scores and no team scores were compiled. Matt Kitto led the Loggers in the tournament and had the low-round score for the hosts.
Kitto scored a 150 (+8) over two days and improved four strokes on the second day to fire a 73 (+1). He tied for seventh to lead the Loggers. St. Martin's Brandon Moore went two-under par in the second round to take medalist honors with a 147 (+5).
Halle Peterson led the women's team with a 180 (+30) to finish seventh overall. Ev Grier dropped seven strokes from day one to day two to go 49-over. Molly Peterson and Lauren Boniface also improved from day one to day two.
Amanda Wittmier was the medalist as she shot a 161 (+11) for the tournament.
The Logger men's team will have a quick turnaround as they head south to Oregon for the two-round Pacific Invitational this weekend.
