TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's soccer team made an early return to campus to prepare for an overseas trip to London and Manchester, Aug. 8-18.
Returning student-athletes and the coaching staff are gearing up for three games against local clubs overseas. In addition to the friendly matches, Puget Sound will have several training sessions. Local coaches will lead some of those training sessions for the Loggers.
Puget Sound's first match is Aug. 12, followed by contests Aug. 14 and Aug. 15.
The Loggers will also have plenty of time to enjoy tourist activities. The team is scheduled for a private tour of Anfield (home of Liverpool FC), and the Loggers will go to an English Premiere League match. The trip also includes sightseeing tours of Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and a river cruise up the Thames.
Patrick Selner, Dane Schatz, and Jack Umbaugh will write blogs during the trip for loggerathletics.com.
The Loggers' 2019 season begins with three consecutive home games, starting with Augsburg, Aug. 30.
