Murdock's last-second goal stuns Pacific Lutheran

PARKLAND, Washington – Better late than never. The Puget Sound men's soccer team was held off the scoreboard for 89 minutes until Luke Murdock scored the equalizer with seconds left to spare in a 1-1 tie at Pacific Lutheran.

Murdock's fifth goal of the year was off a free kick from Sean Hamel. Neither the Loggers (7-2-3, 4-2-1 NWC) nor the Lutes (8-3-1, 5-0-1 NWC) put a shot on target in either of the two sudden-death overtimes.

Through 110 minutes of action, the Loggers put five shots on goal, and the Lutes managed three. Hamel put two shots on frame.

Puget Sound remains four points behind first-place Pacific Lutheran in the Northwest Conference standings.

The Loggers continue their road stretch at Linfield, Oct. 19. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
