Murdock-Spence duo powers Loggers over Linfield

McMinnville, Oregon - Luke Murdock scored twice in the second half to lift the Puget Sound men's soccer team to a 4-1 victory over Linfield on Saturday afternoon.

Puget Sound's (8-2-3, 5-2-1) Ryan Smith scored his first goal of the season in the 39th minute off a rebounded shot from Sean Hamel that ricochet off of the goalie's hand.

At halftime the Loggers were up 1-0.

Five minutes into the second half Cale Spence crossed the ball from the right side connecting to Murdock for the quick touch at the top of the box. Four minutes later Spence crosses the ball from the left and finds Murdock for the header. The senior forward has seven goals on the season.

Linfield (4–91, 2-5-1) came back five minutes later with a goal, but it wouldn't be enough to catch up with the Loggers.

In the 63rd minute, Cale Spence scored his fifth goal of the season maneuvering to the middle and firing it past the keeper to tally the fourth goal of the game.

The Loggers face Willamette on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 2:30 p.m.
