TACOMA, Washington - The Puget Sound men's soccer team battled through a physical 90 minute contest only to suffer a 2-0 loss against Whitworth on Saturday afternoon on East Field.
Puget Sound (8-4-4, 5-4-1) had a few good looks to start off the game, but an own goal off a Pirates' (8-7-1, 6-4) corner kick in the 16th minute would quickly shift the momentum.
The Pirates added an insurance goal in the 77th minute.
Blake Robertson tallied four saves for the Loggers.
There were 38 fouls between both teams. Whitworth had 23 and Puget Sound had 15.
