Women remain fourth, men fifth after day 2 of NWC Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Washington – The Puget Sound women's swim team remained in fourth place, and the men's team stayed in fifth place after Saturday's competition in the Northwest Conference Championships. Pacific Lutheran is hosting the three-day event at Weyerhauser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Washington.

Day 2 Results

On the women's side, Auri Clark finished second in the 100 butterfly (57.39), while Aza Verhoeven placed fifth in the 100-yard backstroke (58.85). The 200 medley relay team made up of Sam Anders, Ally Hembree, Clark, and Grace Lawson finished in sixth place (1:49.70). Austin Stiver (1:08.18) and Hembree (1:08.52) finished in sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 100-yard breaststroke. In the 800-yard freestyle relay, a team of Melisa Kegans, Kayle Dimicco, Alex Koga, and Hembree finished fifth (8:02.94).

For the Logger men, the 200-yard medley relay team made up of Keven Henley, Ian Conery, Evan Hamamoto, and Matt Goldberg finished in fourth (1:36.04). Nick Mitchell placed fourth in the 200 freestyle (1:43.95), while Henley was seventh in the 100-yard backstroke (53.00). The 800 freestyle relay team (Jaycob Davies, Mitchell, David Olson, Henley) placed fourth with a time of 7:01.52.

The Northwest Conference Championships conclude on Sunday, February 14.
