Loggers open season with strong NWC Sprint Meet

TACOMA, WashingtonKelli Callahan and Calista Skog finished second and third, respectively, in the pentathlon as the Logger men's and women's swim teams opened the 2017-18 season with strong performances during the Northwest Conference Sprint Meet in Wallace Pool Friday evening.

Callahan came away with a total time of 2:55.58, and Skog's time was 2:59.30. In the men's pentathlon, Dylan Reimers was the top Puget Sound finished, as his 2:41.67 time was good for 10th overall.

Callahan placed second in the 100-yard individual medley (1:01.01), and second in the 50-breaststroke (32.99). Skog was third in the 100-IM (1:03.88), and second in the 50-butterfly (28.28).

Reimers' best finish Friday was in the 100-IM, where he placed third with a time of 56.91.

The NWC competitors head across to Pacific Lutheran for the NWC Relay Meet at Pacific Lutheran on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 5 p.m.
