Shipley earns All-American in the 5,000-m run

GRINNELL, Iowa – Senior Tyler Shipley earned All-American status in the 5,000-m run during the NCAA Division-III Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Grinnell College on Friday afternoon.


Shipley placed fifth out of the nation's top 15 runners in the event. His time of 14.29.14 was just shy of his own Puget Sound record mark of 14.25.46. Shipley was in either first or second place through the first six minutes (approximately) of the championship race.

On Saturday, Allanah Whitehall competes for a national title in the 60-m dash, and Geremia Lizier-Zmudzinski runs for a title in the 3,000-m.
