Track and field teams compete at Mt. Hood Open

GRESHAM, Oregon – The Puget Sound men's and women's outdoor track & field teams competed in the Mt. Hood Track & Field Open on Saturday. The Loggers took second and third place in both the men's and women's 5000 meter run.


Taili Ni placed second in the 5000 meter run (18:44.57), and Rachel Pearce-Smith took third (19:41.46). On the men's side, James Markin took second in 15:35.95 and Justin Bigelow (15:37.35) was third in the same race. Ni also took sixth in the 1500 meter run.

Other notable finishes from the women's side include a 10th place finish for Logan Bays in the 100 meter dash, while Anna Joseph was eighth in the 200 meters. Emery Bradlina and Mara Cummings finished seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 400 meter dash. Elizabeth King took fourth in the women's pole vault, and Emily Prasil was sixth in the triple jump.

On the men's side, Graham Cobb was eighth in the 200 meter dash, and ninth in the 100 meters. Chris Branham finished 10th in the 100 meter dash. The Loggers' 4x100 meter relay team of Cameron Braithwaite, Ross MacAusland, Cobb, and Branham took third place. Steven Branham placed fourth in the men's long jump.

The Loggers will next compete in the Peyton Scoring Meet, Saturday, March 26.
