Men second, women third at Pacific Luau Invitational

FOREST GROVE, Oregon – The Puget Sound men's track & field team placed second, while the women came in third at the Pacific Luau Invitational on Saturday. The Logger men totaled 179  points, while the women finished with 114 points. Pacific won the event on both the men's and women's side.


Miles Carlson and Graham Cobb placed first and second, respectively, in the men's 100 meters, while Isaac Fournier came in third in the 800 meters. Fournier won the 1500 meter event in 4:09.08. Liam Monaghan placed first in the 5000 meters (16:16.13), while Andrew Langtry was third in the same event (16:37.38). Langtry also finished second in the 3000 steeplechase.

The Logger men took the top spot in both hurdle races, with Matt Wells claiming the top spot in the 110 (15.58) and Avery Steffen placing first in the 400 (1:04.28).

The men's 4x100 relay team of Carlson, Chris Branham, Kai Moya, and Cobb came in second (45.02), while the 4x400 team of Moya, Fournier, Steven Branham, and Steffan finished first in 3:48.70.

In field events on the men's side, Steven Branham place second in the high jump, Graham Cobb was third in the pole vault, and Doug Parker was second in the javelin. Kai Moya won the long jump, while Steven Branham finished just behind him in second place.

On the women's side, Loggers took the top three spots in the 100-meters. Logan Bays was first (13.05), while Anna Joseph took second, and Emily Prasil was third. Joseph also won the 200-meter race (26.78), while Bays finished second.

Emery Bradlina continued her dominance, winning the 800 meter in 2:16.27, while teammate Terra Wildon was third, and Emma Hatton was fourth in the same event. Alison Wise finished second in the 1500 meter and Hannah Eshelman was third.

The women's 4x400 relay team of Bradlina, Wise, Hatton, and Joseph finished second.

The Loggers are back in action for the Northwest Conference Multi-Events this week. The meet, hosted by Pacific, is on Monday, April 10, and Tuesday, April 11.
