The meet before NWC Championships is in Portland

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's and women's track & field teams prepare for the final meet before the Northwest Conference Championships, as the Loggers head to Portland for the Lewis & Clark Invitational, April 20.


Wells award

Matt Wells was named the NWC Men's Track Student-Athlete of the Week following the Jay Hammer Meet (April 13). He ran the Northwest Conference's fastest 110m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 14.71 seconds, which is currently the 12th-best time in the NCAA D-III this season. He is the reigning NWC Champion in the event.


Four for first

Four Loggers won evens during the Jay Hammer Meet last week.  Emery Bradlina won the women's 800-m with a time of 2:18.25, and Isaac Fournier won the men's 800-m by crossing the finish line in 1:56.20. Matt Wells won the men's 110-m hurdles (14.71-s), and Colin Monaghan was the top runner in the 3,000-m run (8:47.32).


Top of their game

Several Loggers hold the NWC's best performances so far this season. Emery Bradlina's 4:43.10 mark in the 800-m run is tops among all NWC women. Bradlina also ranks first in the women's 1,500-m run (4:43.10). Wells has the best finish in the men's 110-m hurdles. AJ Johnson is the top men's triple jump competitor this spring, clearing 13.69-m during the Shotwell Invitational.

Pacific Lutheran hosts the NWC Championships, April 26-27, in Parkland, Washington.
