Loggers grab several first-place finishes in Portland

PORTLAND, Oregon – Leading up to the Northwest Conference Championships next week, several Loggers demonstrated that they're ready for the big stage during the Lewis & Clark Invitational Saturday. 


The Puget Sound women's 4x400-m relay team comprised of Lura Morton, Tatiana Klein, Megan Stills, and Kelby Hunt won with a time of 52.23 seconds.

Matt Wells placed first in the 110-m hurdles for the second consecutive week, timing in at 14.72 seconds.

Isaac Fournier won the men's 400-dash by crossing the finish line in 51.51 seconds, and AJ Johnson won the men's triple jump by clearing 13.22-m.

Other notable events for Puget Sound include the women's high jump, where Sydney Denham placed second after clearing 1.53-m. Wells was also second in the men's high jump (1.84-m). Isaac Fournier placed third in the men's 1,500-m run (4:03.99).

The NWC Championships are hosted by Pacific Lutheran in Parkland, April 26-27.
