Needing a win

Puget Sound enters Tuesday's game with three losses in its last four games, and the Lutes are in the midst of a six-game losing streak.

 

Speaking of streaks…

The Loggers have won 21 consecutive games against Pacific Lutheran. The Lutes' last win over the Loggers was Jan. 6, 2009.

 

Double-double machine

Jamie Lange – who recently became Puget Sound's all-time leading rebounder – has nine double-doubles in 13 games this season. Her most recent double-double was a 14-point, 14-rebound effort against Linfield (Jan. 11). The game prior, she had 15 points and 12 boards against Pacific (Jan. 10). With 13.1 rebounds per game, Lange is the Northwest Conference's leading rebounder.

 

Graceful in conference

Logger freshman Grace Pytynia-Hillier has been shooting the ball well against conference opponents. She is connecting on 41.6-percent of her attempts from 3-point range through the last four games.

 

Bountiful boards

Puget Sound continues to lead the NWC in rebounding. Entering Tuesday's game, the Loggers average 45.8 rebounds per game – the next best mark is 41.4 (Whitman).

Puget Sound's 70.4 free-throw percentage ranks second in the NWC. The Loggers have a 6-3 record when they make at least 10 free-throws.

 

Scouting Pacific Lutheran (5-8, 0-4 NWC)

The Lutes enter Tuesday's game with a six-game losing streak. PLU ranks last in the NWC for free-throw percentage (61.1-percent), and it is second-to-last in both 3-point percentage and field-goal percentage. Katie Taylor is the team's leading scorer (17.1), and Madison Salisbury is the Lutes' top rebounder (7.8).
