Even in Illinois

The Loggers began their 2019 campaign with two matches in Wheaton, Illinois. Puget Sound lost against No. 9 Wheaton, 3-0, Aug. 30. However, the Loggers bounced back with a 3-0 triumph over Hanover, 3-0, the following day. Kylee Roath netted two goals against Hanover, and Gabbie Berg also found the back of the net.

Keeping it fresh

Freshman keeper Chaylea Tome earned her first-career shutout during the Loggers' win over Hanover. She recorded six saves in the winning effort, including three in the game's final 22 minutes.

Quick to offer help

Chaylea Tome isn't the only Logger freshman to make an immediate impact for Puget Sound. Freshman Radhika Webster Schultz assisted on Gabbie Berg's first goal of the season against Hanover.

Looking ahead

Before the Northwest Conference schedule begins against Whitman and Whitworth (Sept. 21-22), the Loggers have one more non-conference contest. Puget Sound hosts No. 18 Trinity (Tex.), Sept. 13.
