Loggers have a tough test against No. 11 Trinity (Tex.)

TACOMA, Washington - The Puget Sound women's soccer team continues its home stretch by hosting No. 11 Trinity (Tex.), Sept. 13, at 4 p.m. in Baker Stadium.

Starting at 3:45 p.m., the first 50 Puget Sound students to show their student ID at the gate will get a free slice of pizza, courtesy of the Puget Sound women's soccer team.



The Loggers wrapped up their season-opening two-game road trip with a 3-0 loss against No. 9 Wheaton, Aug. 30, and a 3-0 victory against Hanover the following day. Puget Sound's first home game of the season was a 1-0 loss against Northwest, Sept. 7.


Tome remains a helping hand 

Puget Sound began its first home debut of 2019 with a tough 1-0 loss in a non-conference game against Northwest. Freshman keeper Chaylea Tome had another outstanding performance, recording nine saves for the team, but Northwest scored a late goal in the 81st minute. Tome has recorded 19 saves for the season so far. 


Around the conference

In the Northwest Conference (NWC), George Fox remains undefeated with a 1-0-1 overall record and Pacific Lutheran (2-1-1) is the only other team over .500. Lewis & Clark (1-1-1) and Pacific (1-1) are both at .500. 


Scouting No. 11 Trinity (Tex.) 

The Tigers, out of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), defeated No. 10 Hardin-Simmons earlier this week (Sept. 7) with a 3-1 victory. Trinity remains undefeated through three games.
