TACOMA, Washington - Ava Cholakian, Radhika Webster Shultz, and Genevieve Cheatham found the back of the net, to lift the Puget Sound women's soccer team to their first Northwest Conference victory of the season, 3-0, over Whitman on East Field Saturday.
Puget Sound improved to 3-1-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play. The Blues fell 0-4-0 overall and 0-1 in NWC.
Cholakian's second goal of the season came in the 22nd minute, as she crushed the ball from up the middle. Twelve minutes later, Shultz beat the defender and buried her first career goal.
At halftime, the score was 2-0.
Early in the second half, Cheatham netted her first goal of the season by burying a cross from Ava Cholakian to give the Loggers the lead for good.
Chaylea Tome had two saves in the contest.
The Loggers host Whitworth Sunday, Sept. 22, at 12 p.m. on East Field.
