TACOMA, Washington - The Puget Sound women's soccer team is on the road to start the second half of the Northwest Conference schedule against Whitman (Oct. 19) and Whitworth (Oct. 20).

Week in review

The Loggers fell to the Lutes (Oct. 9), 1-0, in an closely contested match between two top NWC teams. However, Puget Sound quickly bounced back with a 2-0 victory over Pacific (Oct. 13). 

 

Offensive Leaders

Gabbie Berg and Kylee Roath are leading the Loggers with four goals, apiece. Ava Cholakian and Genevieve Cheatham follow closely with three goals, each. 

 

A helping hand 

CeAnn Romanaggi is tied for the NWC lead in assists with five. 

 

Where they stand

Puget Sound (8-3-1, 6-1-1) has 19 points and  is ranked second in conference, right behind Pacific Lutheran (10-1-1, 8-0) with 24 points. Willamette (7-4-1, 6-1-1) is ranked third with 19 points.

 

Scouting Whitman (1-10-0, 1-7-0 NWC)

The Blues have had a tough start to conference and are currently carrying a five-game losing streak. Three of the Blues are leading the team with two goals, apiece. Allie Seracuse has started five games in goal for the Blues and has totaled 21 saves. Puget Sound defeated Whitman, 2-0, in their first matchup this season (Sept. 21).

 

Scouting Whitworth (3-8-1, 2-5-1 NWC) 

The Pirates had a rocky start in the first half of conference play, but ended the weekend with split results. Whitworth lost 1-0 in overtime to Willamette (Oct. 12), but took a 2-0 victory over Lewis & Clark (Oct. 13). Jadyn Baumgartner leads the team with three goals. Isabelle Arends has played all 12 games in goal for the Pirates and totals 36 saves on the season. Puget Sound defeated Whitworth, 3-1, in their first matchup this season (Sept. 22)
