Winning streak on the line against Linfield, Willamette

TACOMA, Washington - The Puget Sound women's soccer team is going into the weekend with a three-game win streak as it hosts Linfield (Oct. 26) and Willamette (Oct. 27).

Inside the streak

The Loggers shutout Whitman, 4-0, and took a 4-1 victory over Whitworth on the road last weekend. Puget Sound previously beat Pacific, 2-0, at home(Oct. 13). With the wins, Puget Sound improved 10-3-1 overall and 8-1-1 in the NWC. 

 

Spread the wealth 

Kylee Roath, Ava Cholakian, and Gabbie Berg had two goals each over the Whits. Radhika Webster Schultz and Quincy Bento also found the back of the net. Berg and Roath lead the team with six goals on the season, and Cholakian follows with five goals. 

 

Helping with her feet 

CeAnn Romanaggi leads the NWC in assists with eight. The senior tallied three of the eight last weekend. Romanaggi finished the 2018 campaign with six helpers. 

 

Between the posts

Freshman goalkeeper Chaylea Tome has started each game for Puget Sound. She has totaled 56 saves on the season. Tome is ranked in the top five in the NWC for save percentage (0.862) and goals-against average (0.63). 

 

Scouting Linfield (7-6-1, 6-3-1) 

The Wildcats are ranked fourth in the NWC standings after a 3-2 win over Pacific (Oct. 16) and a 1-0 victory over Willamette (Oct. 19). Sydney Kuehn leads Linfield with eight goals on the season, and Kristen Burke follows with six goals. The Wildcats average 1.93 goals per game. Madi Reimer has started 11 games in the box and has tallied 44 saves on the season, including four shutouts. Puget Sound took a 2-1 victory at Linfield earlier this season (Sept. 28). 

 

Scouting Willamette (8-5-1, 7-2-1)

The Bearcats are ranked third in the NWC after a split weekend with a 1-0 loss to Linfield (Oct. 19) and a 1-0 win over George Fox (Oct. 20). Willamette averages 1.36 goals per game, and Shanna Keil leads the team with six goals on the season. The Loggers reached a scoreless tie at Willamette (Sept. 29) earlier this season.
