Romanaggi nets second goal of season in 1-1 tie

TACOMA, Washington – CeAnn Romanaggi scored her second goal of the season, but the Puget Sound women's soccer team reached a 1-1 tie against Willamette on East Field Sunday afternoon.

Trailing by a goal in the 73rd minute, Romanaggi buried a shot from the right side into the bottom left corner of the net. She now has two goals on the season go along with her Northwest Conference-leading eight assists.

The game was scoreless at halftime. Genny Jilka nearly gave the Loggers (11-3-2, 9-1-2 NWC) a lead late in the first half when she caught the Willamette (9-5-2, 8-2-2 NWC) out of position, but a Bearcats defender headed the shot on goal out of harms way.

Willamette took a 1-0 lead in the 53rd minute, but Puget Sound was awarded a penalty kick just eight minutes later. However, the opportunity sailed over the goal.

The Loggers are back at home to host Lewis & Clark Saturday, Nov. 2, at 12 p.m
