FOREST GROVE, Oregon – Senior Gabbie Berg scored twice, and CeAnn Romanaggi tallied two assists to lead the Puget Sound women's soccer team to a 3-0 win at Pacific in the 2019 regular-season finale Sunday afternoon.
Berg finishes the regular-season as the Loggers' (13-4-3, 11-2-3 NWC) leading scorer for the second consecutive season. She scored her seventh and eighth goals against the Boxers (3-14-2, 1-13-2 NWC).
Berg's first goal on Sunday gave the Loggers a 2-0 lead in the 22nd minute. Her header off a cross from Romanaggi beat the Pacific keeper. The goal was Romanaggi's conference-leading 10th assist of the season.
Puget Sound's lead increased to 3-0 when Berg capitalized on a penalty kick in the 58th minute.
Kiana Serrao opened the scoring at Pacific when she scored in the first minute off an assist from Romanaggi.
The Puget Sound defense did not allow the Boxers to put a shot on goal through 90 minutes.
