Home sweet home

The Loggers have won four consecutive home games, and they are 7-3 overall in Memorial Fieldhouse. Puget Sound started the season with two home wins, and it aims to finish its home slate with two more.

A star is born

Puget Sound freshman Tallie Davison was named both the Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week and the Logger of the Week. Davison became the first Logger in seven years to record 20 or more kills in a match when she had 22 in a 3-1 win over Willamette (Oct. 25). Jackie Harvey achieved the feat twice during the 2012 season. After the win over Willamette, Davison totaled 18 kills in a 3-1 victory over Lewis & Clark (Oct. 26). Davison's collegiate career got off to a late start after recovering from an injury. However, her first three games have been nothing short of sensational. She has 57 kills and a .356 attack percentage.

A setter is blooming

Logger sophomore Sarah Blumenfeld set a personal record with 55 assists during the Loggers' win over Lewis & Clark (Oct. 26). She enters the weekend ranked fifth in the Northwest Conference with 565 assists.

Jordan's versatility

Jordan Holman has established herself as one of the most versatile players in the NWC. She is the only conference competitor with at least 220 kills and at least 270 digs.

Acing the competition

Sarah Blumenfeld and Jordan Holman are the NWC's top two leaders in service aces. Blumenfeld has 52 aces, and Holman has 45. Blumenfeld had a career-best eight aces during a win over Linfield (Oct. 12).

Scouting Pacific (16-6, 9-3 NWC)

Last week the Boxers beat Whitman in four sets, but then lost to Whitworth in four. Pacific defeated Puget Sound, 3-2, earlier this season (Oct. 4). Jordan Zweifel ranks third in the NWC for kills per set (3.39), while Elika Unti is tops in hitting percentage (.335). Pacific's .222 attack percentage leads the NWC by a wide margin – Pacific Lutheran follows with a .190 mark.

Scouting George Fox (10-11, 7-5 NWC)

The Bruins enter the weekend with a six-game winning streak, including a 3-1 victory over Pacific. The Bruins' last loss was against the Loggers in five sets (Oct. 5). Bailey LeBreton leads the NWC in blocks per set (1.01), and Sophie Lawrence is the leader in digs per set (5.51). George Fox ranks second in the NWC for blocks per set (1.84), and it is the NWC leader in digs per set (18.51).
