Shut 'em down

Puget Sound shut down the conference's best offense in a 3-1 victory over Pacific in Memorial Fieldhouse (Nov. 1). The Boxers entered the contest as the best-hitting team in the NWC (.222), but the Loggers limited Pacific to just a .061 clip. Melanie Siacotos finished with seven blocks for the Loggers.

Triple double

Three Loggers posted double-digit kills in the win over Pacific. Tallie Davison led all players with 12 kills, while Jordan Holman and Katherine Carley followed with 11, each.

Davison is on

Freshman Tallie Davison made her collegiate debut Oct. 19, and she has been sensation through her first five matches. Davison averages 3.80 kills per set, which would rank second in the NWC if she had enough games to qualify. Davison became the first Logger in seven years to put up 20+ kills in a match when she had 22 against Willamette (Oct. 25).

Ace one and ace two

Sarah Blumenfeld leads the NWC in service aces with 54, and Jordan Holman ranks second with 50.

Carley's killin'

Katherine Carley is coming off her best three-match stretch of the season when she tallied 11 kills against both Lewis & Clark (Oct. 26) and Pacific (Nov. 1), and followed with seven kills against George Fox (Nov. 2).

Scouting Pacific Lutheran (16-10, 9-5 NWC)

The Lutes enter Wednesday's bout with three consecutive wins. PLU beat the Loggers in a non-conference contest (Aug. 31), but Puget Sound won the first NWC battle against PLU, 3-2 (Oct. 9). Danielle Skibiel's 326 kills is second in the NWC, and Halle Hetzler leads the conference with 504 digs. The Lutes have a conference-best 1.90 blocks per set.
