Loggers set to run in Parkland

TACOMA, Washington – Following a weekend off from competition, the Puget Sound men's and women's cross country teams return to action in Parkland, Washington, for the Pacific Lutheran Invitational Saturday, Sept. 21.

 

Two-time honoree

Reigning Northwest Conference Men's Cross Country Champion Colin Monaghan has already earned two NWC Student-Athlete of the Week honors this season. He won the Puget Sound Invitational (Aug. 31), and he placed fourth overall in the Viking Rust Buster at Portland State (Sept. 7).

 

Metzler's not messin'

Rachael Metzler was the Logger women's top runner in the Viking Rust Buster, crossing the 6k finish line in 15:42.9. She finished seventh overall in the Puget Sound Invitational, just five spots behind Samantha Schaffer in the season-opening race.

 

Looking ahead

Puget Sound competes in the Willamette Invitational, Oct. 5, and then goes to Portland for the Pioneer Invitational, Oct. 19. The Loggers host the NWC Championships, Nov. 2.
