Monaghan wins third race of the season

SALEM, Oregon – Puget Sound men's cross country sophomore Colin Monaghan earned his third outright win of the season during Saturday's Charles Bowles Invitational hosted by Willamette.


Monaghan, the reigning Northwest Conference Champion, crossed the finish line in 24:37.5, more than 10 seconds ahead of the next runner. There were 113 runners in all. Cody Dewitt finished next for the Loggers. His 27:10.0 time was good for 86th overall. As a team, the Logger men placed 14th out of 16.

Rachael Metzler onced against paced the Logger women. She finished 50th out of 157 runners, timing in at 19:20.0. Eleanour Schnorr finished next for Puget Sound when she crossed the finish line in 19:42 to place 71st.

The Loggers are off next week, but return to action in the Pioneer Invitational, Oct. 19.
