Loggers set for final race before NWC Championships

TACOMA, Washington – Saturday is the final tune up before the Northwest Conference Championships when the Puget Sound men's and women's cross country teams race in the Lewis & Clark Invitational at McIver State Park in Estacada, Oregon.

 

The competition

Puget Sound is racing against runners from Lewis & Clark, Chemeketa Community College, Clark College, Colorado College, George Fox, Lane Community College, Oregon State, Pacific, Pacific Lutheran, Southern Oregon, Treasure Valley Community College, Whitman, and Whitworth.

Conference recognition

Puget Sound men's sophomore Colin Monaghan has already received four NWC Student-Athlete of the Week honors this fall. The reigning NWC Champion has a strong to chance to successfully defend his conference crown.

 

Metzler not messin'

Rachael Metzler has been the Logger women's top runner in each of the last three races. She paced the Logger women in the Chuck Bowles Invitational (Oct. 5), PLU Invitational (Sept. 21), and the Viking Rust Buster (Sept. 7).

 

NWC Championships

Puget Sound hosts the NWC Championships, Nov. 2, at Fort Steilacoom Park in Lakewood, Washington.
